Members come from a range of professional and social backgrounds and train in a relaxed family like atmosphere, whilst maintaining the discipline and etiquette required in Shotokan Karate.
Karate is a sport that families can do together, we have had many parents and children join together and who have gone all the way to black belt, taking this examination on the same day. Many parents give time to bring their children along and find themselves sitting at the back of the training hall, you may as well join the fun.
Aside from being an excellent form of self defence, karate is a competitive sport. Regular training will help improve physical fitness and flexibility, develop stamina and increase self confidence. In addition you will learn how to defend yourself and have fun.
Students have the opportunity to grade 4 times per year where students take an exam to achieve their next grade. For many this promotes a sense of achievement and motivation.
In addition students can participate in courses run by the Chief Instructor Shihan Sahota and are encouraged to take part in The Annual Championships which provides the opportunity to demonstrate the skills learnt throughout the year.
Classes are run by Mrs Debock, 5th Dan who has been training for over 35 years and teaching since 2003.
